On 20 October the guest of CIPR TV was Robert Phillips, UK CEO of Edelman - the world’s largest Independent PR firm and PR Week Consultancy of the Year, 2009.
In his 20 min interview he spoke about his outlook for the PR industry, the changing relationship between organisations and their audiences and the emergence of the digital democracy.
Robert Phillips is an award-winning Brand Marketer with two campaigns in PR Week’s Top 20 Campaigns of All Time - ‘Hello Boys’ work for Wonderbra and PlayStation 2. He advises a number of leading multi-nationals and global brands on defining their strategies in the context of a rapidly evolving communications landscape. His particular passion is the confluence of corporate reputation and consumer brands, and the role of trust, responsibility and accountability within business and politics. Robert’s career spans 22 years, having co-founded leading Consumer Brands Consultancy, Jackie Cooper PR (JCPR) in 1987 - and, together with his partner Jackie Cooper, sold the business to Edelman in May 2004. Robert became Edelman CEO in May 2007.
He is also a frequent writer and contributor on the relationship between Businesses, Brands, Governments and Citizens; on the evolution of Public Relations into a new model of Public Engagement; and is the co-author of Citizen Renaissance, published in 2008.
