One third of Bulgarian employees believe they don't have sufficient information about their company's performance
A national representative survey in Bulgaria conducted in August 2008 – ordered by Apeiron Communication to polling agency Alpha Research.
Approximately one third of Bulgarian employees believe they don't have sufficient information about their company's performance. The tendency was shown by a recent national research made by Alfa Research agency for the purposes of Apeiron Communication. The opinion poll was conducted in August 2008.
In October 2007 a similar study showed that only 36 per cent of the respondents believed they were well informed about organisational changes. This fact is indicative of the growing importance which the internal communication offices have had in Bulgarian companies since October 2008. Despite the positive trends, Bulgarian firms and their staff are still relying on traditional communication channels, such as personal meetings with line managers (49,8%) or colleagues (48,5%).
The percentage of those who usually get information for organizational changes from outside sources decreased from 10 to 4,7%. The research also showed that communication channels such as print or e-bulletins, information boards and messages from the HR office are still not very popular among Bulgarian employees. Only 10% of them are willing to receive information using these channels.
According to the survey, working Bulgarians would like to be informed about organizational changes (51%), company's financial performance (46%), payment scheme (44%) and planed activities (42%); Bulgarian employees are less interested in their personal performance and opportunities for professional development as well as in organizational initiatives intended for staff members or for strengthening company's market positions.
